The Lehman Mansion
Renovation of the landmark Beaux Arts Lehman Mansion on West 54th Street as offices and entertaining spaces for a hedge fund group. The project included restoration of the historic facade and interiors, a modern glass penthouse addition and high-tech building systems throughout. Following the bequest of Robert Lehman, in 1969 the Lehman art collection and several rooms from the house were transferred to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. BFA brokered an agreement between the new owners of the building and the Met to retrieve numerous architectural artifacts that had not been used in the Lehman Wing period rooms, and which were reincorporated into the restored mansion.
